I stayed up very late last night – until the wee hours of the morning. You see this is a birthday anniversary that I have been waiting to see if it materializes or not – 65 years of experience marked on this day… That day arrived and I was here to greet it. 😉 Couldn’t go to sleep on such a momentous occasion!
I spent the time downloading some things I bought myself for my birthday – things to improve my mind (which is my reality) – investments in my future. Did I get everything I wanted? Lord no – everything I want is a process, not something to have all at one time. Time was invented so that everything doesn’t happen at once – always giving us something to look forward to, you see…
Sure, I know what “they” say – live in the now… But when living in “now” I prefer to have my good memories with me – as well as the good feelings of what possibilities I can materialize in my future. Those who prescribe to (pretend to) live totally in “now” are fooling themselves… like an ostrich with its head in the sand. If living totally in the “now” – then how do they remember how to walk, to tie their shoes, to drive?
So lets not go off on some wild extreme here and enter into a pretend world – we may fully enjoy the “now” and do that by bringing with us the fond memories of the past (void of regrets that those experiences ended) and leaving behind any negatively charged emotions. Add to “now” the spice of possibilities being manifested and “now” becomes a great experience fortified with wonderful feelings from “now” – the past – and the future
I understand the intent of those who preach “live in the now” – but such generalizations could more beneficially be abandoned… Generalizations are often taken at face value, which could cause some unnecessary challenges. Such as a female friend of mine, who stated she wasn’t into ANY of those things I am into – and “ANY” was in all caps… So I offered to go my own way since this was a pretty new relationship and her statement indicated we had little or nothing in common.
Which calls my attention to an extreme that can cause challenges just as generalizations may do – that would be exaggeration… Now my offer to go my own way was labeled “beating her up”… OMG…
The situation then progressed into her stating that she wanted to call it all off – due to the “tensions”… (Inferring that I caused the tensions) – how powerful I must be! On that note we may examine taking responsibility for what one creates. Casting blame onto others gives them great power and greatly limits our ability to be a responsible navigator in our reality.
These accounts presented as lessons – not something to dwell upon. I find it difficult to effect a remedy without addressing the challenge – which could be another challenge of living only in the “now”. (A behavior this lady proudly proclaims to cherish) I found that behavior particularly difficult to interact with – with her not wanting to plan or to commit to anything… Makes me wonder (momentarily) how she managed to complete school and college to become a high school literature teacher and to retire from that occupation. (Without planning and without commitment?)
Extreme gratitude to The Universe (An extreme that is beneficial) for these lessons concerning “extremes”… I hereby continue to embrace “balance”… With a good dose of extreme Love radiated strongly to Prime Source and to All That Is. Lesson learned – embracing the positive energies and allowing all else to fall into the past. So mote it be!
